I am honored to have this opportunity for my first conference in grade 8. I hope I will be able to continue my MUN journey through High School.
This year’s theme is: “The role of sovereignty in diplomacy towards international responsibility”. As many countries are becoming more independent and powerful, it is incredibly important that we still find ways to keep diplomacy and work together for a better future. In order to keep international responsibility, it is crucial to maintain cooperation between countries and to form alliances.
The committee I will be chairing, the HRC, is responsible for strengthening the promotion and protecting human rights all across the globe and for addressing and finding solutions to human rights issues. This is getting relevant globally, as many conflicts have caused many human rights violations in the world, and they shouldn’t be taken lightly.. I am looking forward to overseeing the debates in HRC, as I find the issue of human rights one of the most important ones, and I am excited to hear delegates debate about this topic.
I am eager to take on the role of Head Chair in my first conference of the 25-26 school year, improve my debating skills, make new friends, and hope for many fruitful and insightful debates to come.

I have been part of UNISMUN since March 2024, when I was in Grade 6, and this is my 4th MUN conference, and my 1st as a chair. This will be my last November conference for MSMUN. I am honoured to have the opportunity to chair for this committee.
This year’s theme, “The role of sovereignty in diplomacy towards international responsibility”, references how more and more countries are developing and getting more powerful, and eventually becoming more independent. Therefore, it is important that we find ways to keep the alliances together and keep the diplomacy to cooperate between countries and work together to develop a better future.
The question HRC will be debating on is: “The question of the right to labour unions”. This question is responsible for addressing problems related to human rights, as well as countries working together to find a solution. The problems created due to lack of human rights, and people fighting for their rights are getting more often and many conflicts along with violation are happening because of this. Therefore, this topic should be discussed well during the conference, delegates working together to create a solution. I am looking forward to listening and looking at what the delegates debate about, their points, as well as the resolution they create for this issue.
I am excited to chair the first conference this year, making new friends and learning more about this topic, and with all of that, I hope this conference will be a memorable experience for everyone.
Deputy Chair
Sunga Yoo
Grade 7
Most esteemed delegates, chairs, directors, and guests,
My name is Sunga Yoo, I am in 7th grade and attend United Nations International School. I will be participating as Procedural chair of the HRC committee during the November Conference of 2025.
This is my 2nd year in MUN, since I joined in 2024 September. This is my first conference as a chair, 3rd conference of MUN and I’m looking forward to it. I will try my best to make a fun committee where delegates are comfortable to share their opinions and POIs.
The theme for this conference is “The role of sovereignty in diplomacy towards international responsibility(The balance between a country's freedom to manage its own affairs and its duty to cooperate with other countries for the good of all.).” Many countries are developing fast and it’s essential that countries can set boundaries for working as a group, and as an individual country.
The question for the HRC committee at this conference is “The question of the right to labour unions”. This question discusses human rights, and the relationships about it between different countries. Some countries are missing a lot of the important parts of Human rights, causing many problems around the world. I believe that during this conference, the HRC committee should come up with strong resolutions for this problem. I am eager to listen to the creative ideas of resolutions the delegates come up with, their enthusiasm for MUN, the way they debate, and the PoIs they come up with.
Again, this is my first time chairing, and I’m delighted to be listening to the delegate’s debates, PoIs, resolutions, and opening speeches during the conference. I will take this opportunity to learn from other chairs, and delegates. Concludingly, I hope that the November conference of 2025 will be a good memory for everyone participating.

Most esteemed delegates, fellow chairs, directors, and guests,
My name is Uha Song in 8th grade and I will be your deputy chair for HRC-2.
I have been a part of UNIS MUN since 2024 March, and this will be my 5th conference but my first time as a chair. I have experienced being a delegate and an admin and have grown much on understanding the global issues and how MUN works. As this is my first year performing as a chair, I will be committed to put all my efforts to engage in the debate and hope to refine my skills even more through being a chair for this committee and am honored to have this opportunity.
The theme of this conference is “The role of sovereignty in diplomacy towards international responsibility”. Countries across the world continue to attain more power and the demands for sovereignty is becoming a serious question to debate. A fully independent country without any interference from diplomacy could form various conflicts both inside and outside the nation. Therefore, debating according to this theme would help countries to find a balance between sovereignty and diplomacy as well as improve our understanding as students about the real world issues in politics.
The question HRC will be debating is “The question of the right to labor unions”. This committee is responsible for strengthening the protection of human rights around the world by addressing situations of when human rights are violated and creating relevant solutions on them. The engagement of laborers grows to become a crucial part of developing a country. During the process of labor, it is important that the environment aligns with human rights and is fair for everyone. Hence, it is important that this topic is talked about.
Once again, this is my first time being chair and I look forward to a fun debate with creative resolutions as well as participation from everyone in this room. I hope to make new friends and improve as a chair during this conference and wish everyone for a memorable experience.
